The Storr

Staffin, Trotternish, Isle of Skye, Eilean á Chèo, Highland, Scotland

The Storr is a well known geological locale where cliffs expose lava flows – some of which have amygdaloidal cavities with zeolite minerals.

Mindat lists ten mineral species from the site, including one for which it is the type locality – Gyrolite.

Ancient landslips have created an unusual landscape here, well worth a look. I am unsure as to whether any collecting would be allowed from the site, though.

The site contains a large formation known as the The Old Man of Storr.
