Loch Scridain area

Isle of Mull, Argyll and Bute, Scotland, UK

A sea loch on the Isle of Mull, well known for exposures of corundum.

The site is best known for exposures of corundum, particular the blue gem variant, sapphire.

The site is the type locality for one form of mineral, Mullite.

Along the loch shores there are various things of interest – a fossil tree case, an area of columnar basalt, and a cave.
