Gurney Slade Quarry is an active limestone aggregate quarry worked since the mid 18th century.

Mindat lists various minerals from the site, including baryte, calcite, hematite, marcasite and sphalerite.
Of most interest are probably the barytes from the site which can be uraniferous – but also the fossils, including jurassic sediments which include Keuhneosaurus.
