Stoneycroft Smelter slag locality

Above Derwent, Allerdale, Cumbria, England, UK

Former smelter location, with dumps of slags – primarily from copper and lead smelting.

Slag minerals are, by their very nature, almost always anthropogenic.

The majority would be classed as microminerals, too – and will broadly speaking, need a high degree of magnification to view well.

The site is now a world heritage site and collecting is unlikely to be allowed.
