Roughton Gill Mine

Roughton Gill mine was a lead and silver mine which produced many great mineral specimens including numerous copper and lead ores including calcite, cerussite, cuprite, hemimorphite, malachite, mimetite, and pyromorphite.

The area around Roughton Gill is very popular with hikers, and is well worth a walk if you’re in the area – there are numerous hills and valleys, waterfalls, and old mines to look at.
