Hartley Birkett Mine

Hartley, Eden, Cumbria, England, UK

The Hartley Birkett Mine is one of several mines that follow the Hartley Birkett lead vein across Hartley Fell.

I have not been able to find much information out about the mine, unfortunately.

The mine produces some specimens of fluorite and hemimorphite.

There may be some more information in Mines of the West Pennines by the NMRS, but I unfortunately haven’t purchased a copy yet.
