Ochtendung, Maifeld, Mayen-Koblenz, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany

An active quarry worked for aggregates and mineralisation found in voids.

I highly recommend looking through the ‘lapisphilosophorum’ and the ‘tomeik minerals’ sites linked below – a collection of phenomenal photos of micro-minerals from this site.

Mindat lists 49 minerals from the site, many of which are of interest to micromineral collectors – the jeremejevite from here is some of the best outside Namibia IMO.

The site is probably known locally and more recently as RPBL work Ochtendung.
