These pieces are radioactive, rather highly so - so safe mineral handling procedures should be followed.
The pieces will be supplied boxed with our ID label.
Our current stock includes:
All measurements taken at 0-1CM with a radiacode2 scintillator. Some of the results varied pretty widely so I've given an approximate average over a one minute exposure.
- #1 - 32x20.7x18.1MM - approximately 60-70uSv/hr
- #2 - 47.4x39.2x10MM - approximately 25-30uSv/hr
- #3 - 43.6x37.6x22.8MM - approximately 5-6uSv/hr
- #4 - 17.6x11.1x4.7MM - approximately 3-3.5uSv/hr
- #5 - 8.4x7.1x5.4MM - approximately 3-4uSv/hr
I would highly recommend taking precautions on the storage and viewing of these pieces; the radioactivity does fall off rather quickly with distance, but for the larger pieces a properly made storage box with a lead lining may help considerably. Please do not purchase these specimens if you are not familiar with safe materials handling.
