Ruby in Calcite matrix
A lovely little piece of Ruby in Calcite – a good colour – a decent pinky red.
This specimen itself measures 60x50x40MM approximately. There are several small crystals on the specimen – at least five pinky-red pieces of Corundum, and one dark green crystal.
The largest Ruby crystal is around 5MM long. They all fluoresce brightly under UV light – in fact, some are so small that is the easiest way to find them.
It is possible there could be more Corundum inside this specimen if you wanted to split it up.
