Faceted Amethyst for jewellery making
Gorgeous clear faceted Amethyst pieces for jewellery makers. These stones are great for jewellers, and absolutely perfect for making earrings and necklaces. They are suitable for rings, but it should be made clear that they are not the hardest stone (Mohs 7) - the ring should be designed to protect the stone from everyday knocks and scrapes.
Amethyst is a purple form of Quartz that has been used for decorative purposes since antiquity. It looks great with gold, silver, and copper coloured metals - to be honest, it seems to go with almost anything.
These lovely stones are available in a range of sizes, and a few different grades. They are facet cut stones with pointed backs.
- Grade AA stones - currently an unused grade, but these are a quality stone with clear purple colour and minimal inclusions.
- Grade A stones - a good quality purple stone with minimal inclusions.
- Grade B stones - a paler purple that may have some inclusions visible and possibly be a little cloudy.
- Grade C stones - currently unused, a very pale purple with visible inclusions and clouding.
