Crystalline Rose Quartz specimens from the Dara-e-Pech pegmatite field, Dara-e-Pech District, Kunar, Afghanistan
Specimen pieces of crystalline Rose Quartz, an unusual and rare material.
You might wonder how this is different to just regular 'rough Rose Quartz'.
Well - most Rose Quartz on the market (nearly all, in fact) has a crystal habit called 'massive'. This isn't a reference to the size of the specimen, rather the formation of the crystals. Massive specimens have no or very little discernible crystal structure - most Rose Quartz occurs as a rough block with no 'form' to it. These specimens have, at least areas with a crystalline form - sometimes they have points, druzy or other visible crystals. This may only be in small areas.
These specimens are from the Dara-e-Pech pegmatite field, Dara-e-Pech District, Kunar, Afghanistan, and are the only stock from this area available, as I no longer purchase from Afghanistan.
I actually found these really difficult to photograph and may give it another go soon as I don't think the pictures are of a particularly good standard.
