Pyromorphite specimens from Old Brandlehow Mine, Keswich, Cumbria, UK

Green Pyromorphite crystals on matrix from the Old Brandlehow mine.

Pyromorphite is a lead based mineral that was once used as a lead ore - so careful handling is recommended.

The Old Brandlehow Mine is a very old mine which predates records, including some workings that were cut pre-gunpowder.

Minerals recovered from the mine included silver bearing Galena, lead bearing ores, and copper ores too - even some gold. It was abandoned around 1873.

Our current stock includes:

  • #6 - 65.9x52.6x24MM - a good amount of darker green crystals over a crystal Quartz matrix.
