Pine cone fossils
These are fossilised pine cones - well, certainly a seed cone of some kind. I can't say with absolute certainty that they are pine.
They are very cool though, and not the most common fossil - they fit with my favourite kind of fossils - ones that you can directly compare to modern creatures, plants, or animals.
They date from the Eocene and are found in Morocco, around the western Sahara.
