Picture Stone Cabochons
These are lovely little Picture Stone cabochons, in freeform shapes and sizes.
Our freeform cabochons are sold singly; however, we also sell parcels ideal for anyone looking for a range of stones.
These were previously sold as Picture Jasper, but that is a trade name - we are trying to avoid using those where possible. This material is a dendritic layered siltstone from China, not a form of Jasper.
The material is sometimes also known as "Picture Jasper" or "Kalahari Picture Stone", and 'Picture stone' is itself a trade name - however, we are trying to avoid using any trade names which misuse the name of another mineral.
Our current stock includes:
- #1 - 48x27.5MM - a teardrop cut with some interesting lines through it!
- #2 - 33x25MM - a freeform cut, very nice pattern.
- #3 - 36.5x25.5MM - an oval cut
- #4 - 27.5x24MM - a very 'picturey' cabochon - a freeform cut.
