Pelecypod bivalve fossil shells

These are interesting little fossils - smooth bivalve fossil shells, with a striking resemblance to modern day shells - they are similar to modern day Brachiopods and Bivalves.

These are typically from the area around Assa, Morocco, and come from the Pelecypod family.

These make a great gift for kids, and fossil collectors - they're also relatively inexpensive. Because everyone can relate to a shell, they are quite a nice visual display aid for children to learn with.
