Palaeoniscum fish fossils
Palaeoniscum is a genus of ray finned Permian fish, found around Europe, including in the UK.
Our current stock consists of specimens from the Marl slate, County Durham, UK.
These were very fragile and on layers of friable rock and have been stabilised using paraloid, a resin used to stabilise fossils and other fragile materials. It does mean the surface texture is a little different.
They are fragments/partial fish, rather than complete specimens but are quite uncommon and a good example for the price range.
