Snowflake Obsidian is a form of black Obsidian with splaying crystals of Cristobalite providing an unusual 'snowflake' like pattern. Obsidian is a form of volcanic glass, and differences in cooling rate caused cristobalite in some spots, rather than obsidian.
These are cut from a single piece of Obsidian and book-matched to appear almost like a mirror image; however, due to the nature of the saw used to cut them, some material is lost and they are never a perfect match. I provide both the left and right measurements for these cabochons, listing them as 1L and 1R.
