An excellent type of mounting putty for small minerals.

This is the best stuff I've found for mineral mounting - it is not permanent, and has a good grip - but not so strong it removes pieces of the specimen. It doesn't go hard with age (or, at least, it hasn't yet - three years on!).

It might look a bit like white-tac but trust me, you'll know the difference upon use.

It's ideal for micromounts and thumbnail sized specimens but can be strong enough for slightly larger pieces too.

I sell it in fifty gram packets, which is enough to mount maybe two dozen thumbnail specimens and even more micromounts.

Obviously this depends entirely on how much you use! I try to be quite minimal with my collection.
