These flat jaw pliers have a flat, non-serrated jaw - all being well, this will help to reduce tool marks on soft metals.

They are not parallel action pliers, they're essentially just regular pliers but with a flat rectangular jaw.

These pliers are primarily used for gripping thin, flat pieces of metal or other flat materials, plastics etc.

The finish on the inside of the jaws could be polished further to remove any small burrs - they are, afterall, budget tools.
