Calcite specimens from Wheal Wrey, Wrey and Ludcott United Mines, St Ive, Cornwall, UK

Bit of a long title that - Wheal Wrey is a part of a group of mines, but is sometimes just referred to as Wheal Wrey.

Calcite specimens from Wheal Wrey, a lead and silver mine open between 1846 and 1866, when the combined mines closed.

We currently have a single piece in stock:

  • #1 - 68.3x60.7x31MM - nicely formed, sharp crystals - colourless and translucent on a Quartz matrix. Looks to have some minor Galena along with it. This piece was probably collected later from spoilheaps, although it is in very good condition.
