Tanygrisiau Railway Station
Tanygrisiau, Ffestiniog, Gwynedd, Wales, UK
Tanygrisiau Railway Station was a small mineral collecting locale formed as a result of blasting work exposing some mineralised areas.
I cannot say for certain whether this locality still exists.
It was originally exposed in 1976, but its entirely possible there has been more development around the site since then. Looking around on Google Street View, there are numerous rocky outcrops in the area but without actually knowing where exactly the locality was, I can’t say.
Mindats dropped ‘pin’ is now the site of a house.
There are seven mineral species listed from the site, including albite, anatase, brookite, clinochlore, quartz, rutile, and synchysite-(Ce).
