Machen Quarry is a working aggregate quarry exploiting dolomitised Limestone which has also produced a range of mineral specimens.

The quarry is quite interesting on a mineralogical level, having produced some supergene minerals and some rare species too, including anglesite, scotlandite, and fraipontite. Fine specimens of cerussite and hydrozincite have also been found.
