Coldstones produces around 600k tons of aggregate per year and is likely to continue for at least a decade.
Mineralised material from the site is split from the roadstone and processed seperately; this includes some fluorite and lead minerals.
The quarry is digging through two mineral veins, known as ‘Coldstones Sun Vein’, and ‘Garnet Vein’. It produces some mineral specimens and occasionally digs through old levels and diggings too, as Greenhow Hill has been mined historically.
The quarry is famous for the Coldstones Cut, a piece of artfork with views of the quarry.
