Abbots Cliff
Dover, Kent, England, UK
Chalk cliff known for occasional areas of mineralisation.
Showing the single result
The site is known for specimens of calcite, marcasite, and pyrite.
Abbotts Cliff is much better known for its sound mirror, an early system used to detect incoming planes before the invention and adoption of RADAR. This is, of course, at the top of the cliff rather than the bottom, but might be worth a visit for anyone interested in history.
