Bowers Quarry is an active stone quarry on the Isle of Portland exploiting “Portland Stone”, a form of Limestone.

Quarrying on the site has gone on since the 1700s, with the current quarry operated by Albion Stone (no relation!) since 1979.
As extraction from this site is almost entirely underground nowadays, its possible we might see some specimens marked as Bowers Mine.
Some of the stone from the site is fossiliferous, with good photos of this being visible on Geoff Kirby’s website linked below.
