Baja California Sur

Mexico

Baja California Sur is a state in Mexico, which occupies the southern end of the Baja California peninsula.

Mindat lists 93 mineral species from the state, and it is the type locality for four species – boleite, cumengeite, cuprotungstite, and pseudoboleite.

Baja California Sur is mineralogically significant for its volcanic, hydrothermal, and sedimentary deposits, particularly in the peninsular ranges and coastal mining districts.

The region has produced notable specimens of quartz, calcite, barite, fluorite, vanadinite, cerussite, and various copper and silver minerals.
