Maubacher Bleiberg

Hürtgenwald, Düren, Cologne, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany

Maubacher Bleiberg is a former open cast mine worked for lead, zinc, and copper ores.

No products were found matching your selection.

The mine was worked for several centuries, and eventually abandoned in 1969. Mineral collectors worked the dumps, gathering a range of unusual metal ores and specimens, but after several decades of dumping, the site is now completely backfilled.

It looks from satellite photos as though the site is still being operated partially as a landfill, so it is reasonable to say it is unlikely any further specimens will come from this locale.

Mindat lists 57 minerals from the site.
