Navidad Mine
Indé Municipality, Durango, Mexico
Navidad Mine exploits a brecciated fluorite vein which has been mined off and on for decades.
Showing the single result
Mindat lists 15 mineral species from the locale, including creedite and fluorite, as well as some more uncommon species like leucophosphite and lipscombite.
The fluorites from the site can be massive and uninteresting but some of the octahedral crystals are quite distinctive. They are often acid washed and then left to bleach in the sun, giving them an unusual reddy-pink-purple colour.
Simple green-purple ‘rainbow’ Fluorite is found at the site too, as well as relatively nicely crystallised specimens of Creedite.
