Calcite Quarry

Holzen, Arnsberg, Hochsauerlandkreis, Arnsberg, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany

Active aggregate quarry near Asbeck, worked for Devonian limestone.

The site may also be known as Calcit-Steinbruch or Calcit Edelsplitt.

Mindat lists 27 minerals from the site, most of which are pretty common.

The name of the quarry is a little tricky – ‘calcite quarry’ is not exactly a unique name, meaning it is a little difficult to find further information on the site.
