Arthropod fossils are the preserved remains of ancient creatures that belong to the phylum Arthropoda, which includes insects, crustaceans, arachnids, and other related organisms.

We split insects, arachnids etc into more specific criteria, though, rather than making this category too sprawling and confusing.
