Petrified Wood Tumblestones
Petrified Wood tumblestones – because of the highly polished finish, this is an interesting way to show off the patterns of the fossilised wood.
They were formed from ancient trees and plant life which were trapped under layers of earth. These gradually turned to stone as various minerals replaced the soft organic material over the years.
Some of the more common fossils like Ammonites or Trilobites are creatures we have never seen living. Since everyone has seen a tree, it is easier to relate to the fossil.
The pictures you see here are representative of the products and are usually not the exact item you will receive. Where various grades are available we do try to photograph each grade – but some photographs are still on their way!
We sell a range of Petrified Wood products, including rough slices and sometimes even carvings – please see our Petrified Wood page for more information about the fossil, and a list of our products.
