Polished Pygurus sea urchin fossils from Madagascar

Reasonable examples of a relatively well known genus of sea urchin.

These are budget pieces, and came with relatively little information (just 'Pygurus, Madagascar), but they are likely Pygurus depressus, and are probably from Tulear, Madagascar.

Madagascan specimens aren't something I often buy, as their laws ban export of unworked fossils - and as a result, most Madagascan fossils are polished or cut in some way. These are no exception - polished on the face and saw cut on the rear.

These are budget specimens - they have some limited damage to the face, and they are repaired - restoration is very obvious in these specimens - voids are filled with a mix of fossil fragments and dyed cements.
