Native Copper Specimens

Native copper is a naturally occurring form of copper that is found in its pure metallic state without any combination with other elements, although there are often impurities, or it is found inside a host rock.

It is a reddish-brown or orange-colored mineral with a metallic luster and a bright copper-red streak.

Copper is typically found in its ore form, meaning native copper is relatively rare and is typically found in association with other copper minerals such as chalcocite, chalcopyrite, and bornite.

Native copper is often found in irregular masses or as dendritic or wire-like formations, and it can also occur as crystals.

It is found in various parts of the world, including the United States, Canada, Australia, and Russia.
