Native copper is a naturally occurring form of copper that is found in its pure metallic state without any combination with other elements, although there are often impurities, or it is found inside a host rock.

It is a reddish-brown or orange-colored mineral with a metallic luster and a bright copper-red streak.

Native copper is often found in irregular masses or as dendritic or wire-like formations, and it can also occur as crystals. These pieces are very water rounded and look almost melted.
