Hemalyke mineral mounting standoffs/risers

Micro/thumbnail mineral mounting standoffs / risers made from the synthetic material 'Hemalyke', intended to resemble Hematite.

Standoffs are used to raise specimens off the base of boxes, to allow you to magnify the details more easily when using a microscope or similar. You can use glue or mineral putty to mount your specimens.

These are a new product for me - typically people used to use dowels or cocktail sticks, but I thought I'd offer some more decorative options.

We sell a few types currently:

• #1 - 11.7x8.3MM - curved, cylinder shaped pieces, originally intended as beads. These have a 1.5-2MM hole in the centre which actually helps the tack stick nicely. Sold in packs of ten - quite large ones so intended for thumbnail specimens and larger boxes.
• #2 - 6x4.7MM - hexagonal pieces, originally intended as beads. These have a 0.9-1.0MM hole in the centre which actually helps the tack stick nicely. Sold in packs of ten - a little bit smaller, and good for smaller specimens.
