Hemalyke (Synthetic)

Hemalyke or hematine is a synthetic form of hematite that is made by mixing small amounts of iron with ceramic materials.

Hemalyke is often used as a substitute for natural hematite in jewellery and other decorative items. It is often magnetic, whereas natural Hematite generally isn’t.

Some sellers may market hemalyke as natural hematite, which can be misleading.

Hemalyke is not a natural mineral and should not be sold as such.
