Lapis Lazuli from the Cazadero river, Ovalle, Limarí Province, Coquimbo, Chile
Bit of a rarity here, Lapis Lazuli from a non Afghanistan/Russia source.
These pieces are decent enough, rich blues, although not as good as the famed Afghani royal blue Lapis. #1-4 are all fluorescent, which is a bonus. #5-8 do not display much if any fluorescence.
Unfortunately, #1-4, #9-10 are offcuts, with at least one saw cut side on each. Presumably, cut off from larger pieces that were used for lapidary. The relative rarity of the specimens makes it worth it in my eyes, though. #5 is a varnished rough cut, and #6-8 are all polished pieces.
