Belemnites from Charmouth and Lyme Regis, UK
These are fragments of ancient fossilised remains of sea creatures known as Belemnites.
These pieces were all collected around Charmouth or Lyme Regis in the UK. They can quite easily be found in the cliffs and around the beaches - however, the area can be somewhat dangerous due to crumbling cliffs and a fairly high tide which can cut you off.
We sell a few different pieces; they are all broken off larger pieces. Some have tips, some don't.
Our current stock includes:
- #1 - 40-50MM water rounded Rostrum pieces with the point intact - sold as Grade B.
- #2 - 50-60MM Rostrum pieces with the point intact - sold as Grade A. These pieces were collected shortly after they first 'emerged'.
- #3 - Mixed bag of broken fragments without points, 11 in total. Mostly 20-40MM.
