Annabergite mineral specimens from KM-3 Mine, Lavrion, Greece
Annabergite is a rare nickel arsenate mineral with a beautiful apple green color. It is often found as a coating on other nickel minerals, but can also form as crystals.
Annabergite is a relatively soft mineral at only 1.5 - 2.5 on the Mohs scale.
It is not commonly used in jewellery, but is a prized mineral among collectors due to its rarity and unique color.
To be clear, while the KM 3 mines do produce some fabulous specimens, these are definitely at the lower end of the quality spectrum.
In most cases with the naked eye all that can really be seen is a green patch. Under magnification, crystals are more visible, but not distinct. These are from an unusual locale but are more of a 'hole filler' in your collection than a high quality specimen.
