Showing the single result
The site produces a huge amount of minerals – mindat lists 300 species. It is the type locality for two, Prachařite and Stergiouite.
The ores worked at the site are varied and the mines were worked for a variety of ore minerals including antimony, arsenic, lead, and silver.
Given the large number of existing mines, it is likely there are some more not listed below.
There are several sublocalities worked as part of the Plaka mines, including:
- Adami Mine No. 2
- Louisa Mine
- Plaka Granodiorite Mine
- Plaka Mine No. 27
- Plaka Mine No. 80
- Plaka Mine No. 145
- Plaka Porphyry Deposit (“Porphyry Hill”)
- Plaka Sulfate Locality
- Plaka Sulfate Locality II
- Sclives Mine
- Voltaite outcrop
These links all go to the mindat page for the individual mines, rather than me putting them all in the further reading header.
