Broken Hill South Mine

Broken Hill, Broken Hill district, Yancowinna Co., New South Wales, Australia

A large lead, silver and zinc mine in the Broken Hill Mining area.

The mine and its various sub mines and open cuts has produced nearly 150 species of mineral, including six for which it is the type locality – ferrorhodonite, kintoreite, kolitschite, mawbyite, segnitite and yancowinnaite.

The site is also sometimes known as BHS mine or South Mine.
