The Block 14 opencut is a former open cast worked as part of the famous Broken Hill South Mine.

It has since been partially backfilled or at least used for tailings; it is unlikely any further specimens will be coming from the site.
Some material from the site was dumped at the Pinnacles Mine, where it could be collected during the 90s, although no further collecting is allowed.
Mindat lists over 90 minerals from the site, including 9 for which it is the type locality – there are a good number of uncommon secondary minerals from the site too.
