Puig de la Banya de Boc volcano

Llorà, Sant Martí de Llémena, Girona, Catalonia, Spain

A pleistocene era volcanic cinder cone from approximately 120,000 years ago.

The site produces olivine-pyroxene specimens, often known as peridotite, in basalt strombolian projection bombs – they were fired from the volcano and then cooled under the right conditions to form green gemmy crystals.

Mindat lists 8 minerals including olivine and pyroxene group minerals.
