Some specimens may be labelled as Huarón Mine, but the mining district includes a large number of mines – Mindat lists nearly fifteen mines with one primary mine as the main source of mineral specimens – Animón mine.

As it is difficult to determine a specific mine for every specimen, it’s easier to just refer to this area as the Huarón district.

Huarón exploits a polymetallic deposit – Zn-Pb-Ag-Cu-(Au). Various interesting minerals including tennantite, enargite, sphalerite, galena, chalcopyrite, pyrite, rhodochrosite and calcite can be found.

Mindat lists 20 mineral species from the site.
