Gortdrum Mine

A former copper mine near Tipperrary which produces some rare minerals.

The mine is known for excellent mineral specimens, primarily copper and mercury ore minerals.
It is the type locality for Gortdrumite, but also produces fine specimens of azurite, baryte, cinnabar, tennantite and tyrolite.
As of 2021, some exploration drilling had been done at the site with the potential view to opening up further mining in the area.
