Djouga diggings

‘Djouga diggings’ is the name given to a series of small surface excavations near Bendougou village which produces fine specimens of prehnite.

The locals mine the area of prehnite, epidote, and garnets, although the best specimen by far are the abundant botryoidal prehnites which are well known from the site.

Epidote and prehnite do often occur together from this site and are well known combinations for collectors.
