Coral

Coral is a controversial subject; many coral reefs are facing various threats from pollution, climate change, overfishing, etc – so using it for jewellery seems inappropriate.

I would not purchase any new coral – this stock was all purchased from a retiring jeweller and dates to around the 70s at the latest. It was difficult to decide whether to sell it at all, but I am frequently asked for these cabs to repair vintage jewellery.

I figure its better for these items to be used than sit in a drawer or go into landfill; I just would personally prefer no more are made when the older stock is gone. Unfortunately, they are still manufactured in various countries.
