Zeunerite from Schmiedestollen dump, Wittichen, Rottweil, Freiburg Region, Baden-Württemberg, Germany
Small specimen pieces of Zeunerite from the site known as 'Schmiedestollen dump'.
This is not a mineral locality, but a shared dump site between various mines including Alt St Joseph and Gnade Gottes mines.
May also be meta-zeunerite, the dehydrated form. Zeunerite is a copper uranium mineral with the formula Cu(UO2)2(AsO4)2 · 12H2O.
It is radioactive, albeit fairly weakly.
We currently have a single piece in stock:
- #1 - 17.9x14.1x8.6MM - a nice micromount - good crystals, better under magnification. From an old german collection, would benefit remounting.

Nice piece that allows me to continue my work showcasing uranium minerals. Perhaps more importantly, arrived as planned, Object exactly as advertised, well packaged and arrived on time.
