Zeunerite from Schmiedestollen dump, Wittichen, Rottweil, Freiburg Region, Baden-Württemberg, Germany

Small specimen pieces of Zeunerite from the site known as 'Schmiedestollen dump'.

This is not a mineral locality, but a shared dump site between various mines including Alt St Joseph and Gnade Gottes mines.

May also be meta-zeunerite, the dehydrated form. Zeunerite is a copper uranium mineral with the formula Cu(UO2)2(AsO4)2 · 12H2O.

It is radioactive, albeit fairly weakly.

We currently have a single piece in stock:

  • #1 - 17.9x14.1x8.6MM - a nice micromount - good crystals, better under magnification. From an old german collection, would benefit remounting.
