Torbernite from Wheal Edward, Botallack, St Just, Cornwall, England, UK
Reasonably sized specimen of Torbernite from Wheal Edward, a part of the combined Botallack Mines.
The site is now a SSSI and permission to collect is required.
We currently have a single piece in stock, a smattering of tiny crystals on matrix. It comes bagged, with a former collectors label and the one we provide.
Torbernite should be handled carefully, as it is both radioactive and toxic.
Consider mounting it in a box and minimising handling. This piece is only mildly radioactive, with a radiacode2 detecting only negligibly above background at 3CM from the specimen.
