Red Tigers Eye cabochons for jewellery making

Dark reddy-brown Tigers Eye cabochons, perfect for jewellers. We currently stock this stone in oval only - as it isn't the most common.

Naturally occurring red Tigers Eye does occur, and is formed by natural heating in the ground. A combination of heat and chemistry cause various colours - primarily blue, gold, and reddy-brown - sometimes uneven heating will produce a mix of colours.

However, it is also artificially heated, and it is extremely difficult to tell whether the heating is natural or artificial. It's reasonable to assume all these pieces are artificially heated to produce their even colour.

These pieces are perfect for statement pendants, rings, and earrings. The larger pieces are ideal for wire-wrapping, too.

These lovely red brown stones contrast well against silver and gold alike. They look brilliant combined with dark and black stones, too. Wire wrappers may want to think about working in copper, brass, bronze, or antiqued wire.

The cabochons have great chatoyancy, and a good mix of red and brown colours. Honestly, these are great cabochons, and excellent value for money, too.
